The European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) has signed a new financing agreement with Microinvest, the leader in non-banking lending in the Republic of Moldova, reinforcing long-term international partnerships and supporting EU-backed efforts to expand access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises and strengthen sustainable economic development in the country.
The agreements were signed during the EU-Moldova Investment Conference, one of the most important investment-focused events dedicated to Moldova’s economic development organized jointly by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Commission. The conference brought together European institutions, international financial organizations, investors, and business leaders to explore investment opportunities supported through the EU Growth Plan for Moldova.
The new financing agreements further strengthen Microinvest’s capacity to support local entrepreneurs, and regional businesses through accessible and responsible financing solutions. The partnerships also contribute to Moldova’s broader efforts to stimulate private sector development, strengthen economic resilience, and accelerate sustainable transformation aligned with European standards.
With its strong presence in Moldova and experience in supporting financial institutions, EFSE plays a key role in channeling international funding to sectors with high development potential, supporting investments in business growth, modernization, productivity, and long-term resilience.
